Coexistence of many cultures in India shows the brotherhood of the citizens of India. There are many examples which shows the brotherhood, some temples and monasteries in coorg add to those examples such as:

THE OMKARESHWARA TEMPLE, MADIKERE, here the temple though a Hindu temple of lord Shiva is built in an Islamic architecture style, the dome and minarets towering over the tiled roofs of the city. This is backed by a story where the ruler of Kodagu district Lingarajendra II killed an innocent Bhramin. The reason is not firmly found out but people say that he killed the bhramin as he opposed the king's misdeeds. The story continues telling that the Bhramin's spirit started to trouble the king, he then turned to other bhramins to find the solution of this problem, who told them the only way to get rid of this problem is to bring a LINGA from Varanasi where he killed the bhramin. The king did the same as he was told by other bhramins, he brought the linga and constructed a temple around it in Islamic style known as Omkareshwara Temple. Its said that the spirit of the bhramin didn't haunt the king after he brought the linga and constructed the temple.

Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple
The last place i went to was TALACAUVERY, located in Bhramagiri hill, known as the place of origin of the river CAUVERY in Karnataka which is also known as Dakshin Ganga. This river is considered holy in Karnataka as it quenches the water need in the city so, Talacauvery is greatly known for Sri Bhagandeshwara where people take a dip into the holy 'kunda' before proceeding to the main temple Talacauvery Temple where people worship the Holy water which acts as a life source to the city of Karnataka.

Sri Talacauvery Temple
The Talacauvery temple is a holy shrine of the cauvery water on which Karnataka and many other states rely upon. We have a Kunda in between of the temple where we can do rituals and give offerings. There is also a path behind the temple which leads to the hill top on which the temple is situated.
